Chargers and cylinders are UN 2037 pressurised gas cartridges, carried under the ADR limited-quantity provisions. Royal Mail and Parcelforce prohibit compressed gas outright, so they never travel by standard post — they go on our own van, or with a carrier contracted for limited-quantity dangerous goods.
Those contracts do not cover routes with an air or ferry leg. That rules out the islands and, for now, Northern Ireland. It is worth being precise about the reason: this is a carriage limit, not a legal one. Northern Ireland controls nitrous oxide identically to Great Britain — regulation 4C of the Misuse of Drugs Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2002, same wording, same Schedule 5. We simply do not yet have a carrier for the Irish Sea leg. The rest of the catalogue goes there normally.
Controlled deliveries are different
Signed for by a named person at your trading premises. We cannot leave them with a neighbour, in a safe place, or at a parcel shop, and we cannot redirect them once they are out. If nobody is there it comes back to us and we rebook.

Bank holidays and failed deliveries
We do not deliver on bank holidays. Orders placed after the cut-off on the last working day before one go out on the next working day. For non-controlled goods we will follow your standing instructions if nobody is in.
